Welcome to Aja Naturopathy
Aja Naturopathy is a natural health business that promotes mind, body and energetic healing. Founded on the principle ‘treat the root cause,’ at Aja Naturopathy it is imperative to our healing practices to not merely identify and address symptoms of dis-ease, but instead uncover patterns of disharmony within the body, mind and energy to restore a state of balance. At Aja Naturopathy we operate to treat patients holistically, that is, to identify and recognise all aspects of person as well as acknowledging that all body systems are connected. Stimulating the vital force and the inherent wisdom of the body is thus a cornerstone of treatment and the therapeutic approach.
Current offerings include Naturopathy, Nutritional Medicine, Iridology, Homeopathy, Functional Pathology and Flower Essence Therapy. Jess is also a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner.
Pronounced: {Ah-yah}
A West African goddess, Aja is known as the wild wind. She is the spirit of the forest, the animals within it, and all the herbal healers.
In her forests, Aja would uncover plants with medicinal properties, blending herbs, roots, and other plant parts to create cures for the sick.
An Orisha, she is a spirit sent by the supreme creator Olodumare to assist humanity and teach them how to thrive on Ayé (Earth).
Possessing immense wisdom and knowledge, Aja waited for humans to seek her guidance, always ready to share her gifts.
She is here to ignite and stimulate Ase in all beings—the life force that flows through everything, living and inanimate.
Ase is described as the power to make things happen and is a sacred affirmation of spiritual growth.
Divine energy from Olodumare, Ase is manifested through Olorun, ruler of the heavens and associated with the sun. As life cannot exist without the sun, so too can it not exist without Ase—known in Eastern philosophy as our vital force.

Meet Your Practitioner
Jessica Taylor
Founder/Head Nutritionist & Naturopath
Aja Naturopathy was founded by Jessica Taylor, a degree-qualified Nutritionist and Naturopath. Jess has a longstanding interest in food, nutrition, spirituality, medicine, and well-being. From an early age, she wholeheartedly embraced the philosophy of "food as medicine" and developed a natural affinity for the healing arts and traditional ways of living. These principles shaped Jess's personal philosophy that good health is essential for living life to its full potential. Helping others achieve this is something Jess treasures deeply and strives to provide for everyone through preventative and restorative medicine.
Jess completed her nutrition studies at Deakin University, earning a Bachelor of Food and Nutrition Sciences with second-class honours. In 2016, she was one of twenty students awarded a scholarship to travel to Sri Lanka on an interdisciplinary study tour. During this trip, Jess assessed the healthcare system in both urban and rural regions of the country. It was here that she deepened her knowledge of Ayurveda and Natural Medicine.. Jess has since engaged in various health initiatives, raising funds and promoting awareness of global health issues in countries such as Peru and Nepal.
Her interest in traditional and natural medicine expanded significantly during this time, igniting and consolidating her passion for well-being, preventive healthcare, and helping others. Jess found that the philosophies, traditional knowledge, and treatment approaches of natural and alternative medicine aligned perfectly with her values and approach to health, inspiring her to study Naturopathy.
Naturopathy became the answer to Jess’s search for a modality that not only embraces and respects evidence-based medicine but also allows her to collaborate with patients in a way that aligns with her holistic approach to healthcare. This practice emphasizes restoring the body’s full potential rather than merely suppressing symptoms.
“Tolle Totum,” or “Treat the whole person,” a guiding principle in Naturopathic medicine and clinical nutrition, resonates deeply with Jess. This principle acknowledges the infinite intelligence of the human body and emphasizes treatment that addresses not only physical health but also emotional, energetic, and spiritual well-being. Choosing to study Nutrition and Naturopathy was a natural and effortless decision for Jess, seamlessly providing her with the tools and knowledge to deliver exceptional care to her patients.
Jess is also trained in flower essence therapy, iridology, and homeopathy—tools she uses to gain deeper insight into her patients' health and to develop personalised treatment strategies.
In addition to her professional studies, Jess has participated in extensive volunteer and philanthropic work in countries across Africa, as well as Sri Lanka, Peru & Nepal. Since 2016, she has worked as a nutritionist in private weight-loss clinics and at a renowned cancer research facility and hospital, working directly with patients as well as her own private practice. Jess graduated from Torrens University (formerly Southern School of Natural Therapries) in early 2025 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Naturopathy). Jess is also a level 2 Reiki practitioner. In the future, Jess plans to do further training in Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Yoga, Functional Medicine, Trauma Healing, Somatic Breathwork, and Energetic Medicine.
An avid nature lover, Jess feels most aligned when working in harmony with the laws of nature—a principle she integrates into her practice. She is deeply committed to her patients, passionate about helping them restore vitality, well-being, and overall quality of life. Jess combines her intuitive approach with evidence-based practical and clinical skills to uncover the root causes of health concerns, restore balance and harmony, and create a safe space for healing.
Jess is also a passionate cook, recipe developer, public speaker, and herbalist. If you are interested in collaborating with Jess, you can learn more below.
